Simon Charteris (commonly called Charty)
Simon is the devoted father of Tom and George Charteris (our under 19 IRB Crew). Since his boys have been involved in the IRB Racing Team, Simon has taken a keen interest and has followed them to all parts of the country from Waipu Cove, Waihi Beach and Wakouaiti Beach in Dunedin. Simon has become an integral part of the team in becoming a Team Manager and assisting John Sanko with those duties.
Simon is often seen at competitions running down the beach with a collection of tools in hand off to help fix something that is broken or not working properly. He also has skills in fixing team accommodation with no water and recently helping Grant Merwood alter the steel packing crate for IRB Gear to Dunedin for Nationals.
The IRB Racing team truly appreciate and congratulate Simon on all the things that he does and what he adds to the team environment.
